STATES THAT HAVE ERECTED BARRIERS TO COMMUNITY BROADBAND

One in 10 Americans cannot get Internet connections fast enough for basic online activities. Many communities have responded to this digital divide by creating their own municipal broadband networks as an alternative in order to gain equal access to education, healthcare, and jobs.

The big ISP's have decided this creates "unfair competition" and have now lobbied successfully to have barriers erected in 19 states making it harder or impossible for communities to build their own broadband.
